TMT = Thursday Morning Treks

Join us for a new series of urban adventures designed for all age groups and fitness levels. Initially, these walks will begin and end at the Carter Center and they focus on the Freedom Park Trail. We will be offering them about every three weeks and the routes will be different each time (see tour calendar for more dates). You can choose from several routes depending on your fitness level. The objectives of these walks are three-fold:

  1. Exploring the built and natural environments of Atlanta's most beautiful and historic neighborhoods
  2. Getting exercise
  3. Making new friends

Route Options Based on Fitness Levels*

  • EASY > You must be able to walk 1 - 2 miles at a leisurely pace
  • MODERATE > You must be able to walk 3 - 4 miles at a brisk pace
  • STRENUOUS > You must be able to talk 5 - 6 miles at a brisk pace

  • 0845, Meet at picnic tables (watch this video to find meeting location)
  • 0900, Coffee and muffins (included in registration fee)
  • 0930, Treks begin (these will range from 1 - 2 hours depending on your fitness level)

* The number of route options will depend  on the number of participants who register. The EASY option will always be available but, if we don't have enough participants to create all three groups, you may be asked to participate in a less strenuous level.
