About This Tour

This special walking tour will focus on two segments of the Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail. You can participate in one or both. The first is the 2.2-mile paved portion between Monroe Dr and Irwin St. The second is the 1-mile extension of the Eastside Trail, which runs from Irwin St to Kirkwood Ave in Reynoldstown.

Itinerary*

* You can participate in any or all portions of this tour. Times and stops are approximate and subject to change. You can park at Park Tavern and take Uber back. Or you can walk back, which adds another 3 miles to your hike.

The focus of this tour will include...

  • History of Atlanta as it relates to railroads and how this made the Atlanta BeltLine possible
  • Atlanta BeltLine Project, from 1999-present
  • Art on the Atlanta BeltLine
  • Updates and close-up views of the construction on the Eastside Trail extension from Irwin St to Kirkwood Ave
  • Piedmont Park, Ponce City Market, Historic Fourth Ward Park, Inman Park, Old Fourth Ward, Reynoldstown
  • Some of Atlanta's Best Pizza Restaurants
  • Update on the transit component of the Atlanta BeltLine
  • Update on T-SPLOST and MARTA Sales Tax referrendums

  • 4-hour educational tour led by Steve Saenz*
  • Information package including maps and current information about the Atlanta Beltline
  • 50% of your registration fee goes to the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership
* Steve Saenz is the founder of Urban Explorers of Atlanta. He is also a bus tour guide for the Atlanta BeltLine Partnership. Since 2014, Steve has led dozens of bus tours and over 100 walking tours throughout Atlanta including three multi-week treks around the entire 22-mile corridor. Steve is passionate about the Atlanta Beltline. You can expect to gain new insights about the HISTORY of Atlanta, CONSTRUCTION updates and many wonderful places to EAT throughout Atlanta.
